Muizenberg Beach

Last weekend we were blessed with such amazing weather. It was absolutely glorious, after weeks of cold rainy days; I couldn't bear to waste even the slightest appearance of sun knowing that the rain wasn't going to stay at bay for too long. Along with sister and our two yorkies in hand, we went down to Muizenberg Beach to soak up some sun and to get our feet wet. Just to make it clear, it definitely isn't warm enough to pull out your two piece just yet, a cardigan is definitely a must as there is still a slight chill in the air.
In winter Muizenberg has no time limitations on when to walk your dogs. The only restriction to walking your dogs on the beach is that they must be on a leash. A rule that it seems no dog owner, on the beach, seemed to follow, but who could blame them there was no visible sign of a police officer or even a life guard on duty.  A warning though , in summer law enforcement can be very serious about time restrictions and have been know to hand out fines if a dog is caught on the beach between peak  usage hours. Besides for having to watch out for overly friendly dogs trying to take a sniff of Tia or the landmines they left behind, there were no real complaints. The beach was clean, the sun was shining and it could possibly have been the most relaxing day I had in awhile. If it was a little warmer, a walk down to surfers corner for a soft server would have been ideal.

I highly recommend taking a long stroll on Muizenberg beach, with or without your dog. It will definitely take the stress of the week off your shoulders and give you a clear and relaxed conscience for the week ahead. Until I blog again.

Peace and Love

  2. Hi Pieter , good question ! One of my favourite restaurants along the beach front is Knead, you can find it on Surfers Corner. They bake all their breads and pastries fresh everyday .
